YOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1 | Arrive Athens
Arrival at Athens International Airport, assistance and transfer to the hotel.
Overnight at hotel in Athens for the next four nights.*
Day 2 | Touring Athens
After breakfast, enjoy a half-day tour of Athens. Depart for a photo stop at Panathinaiko Stadium, where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. You will then pass the Athens Trilogy, which includes the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library. Continue passing by National Garden, Hadrian’s Arc, St. Paul’s Church, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Schliemann’s House (Numismatic Museum), Catholic Cathedral, Old Parliament, Constitution Square, Russian Orthodox Church, and finally Acropolis (visit Propylae, Temple of Athena Nike, Parthenon, Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens). Continue with a pleasant short walk passing by Herodion and Dionysos Theater, in order to visit the Acropolis Museum. Overnight in Athens. (B)
Day 3 | Full-day tour to Delphi
Drive through the fertile plain of Beotia, crossing the towns of Thebes, Levadia and Arachova (short stop on the way back). Arrive at Delphi. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Museum containing such masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. Lunch in the modern village of Delphi (on your own), return to Athens by the same route at about 19.00 and drop off at your Hotel. (B)
Day 4 | Athens free-day
Discover this magical city and all it has to offer by walking along the narrow streets of Plaka or visiting the Promontory on top Mount Lycabettus for spectacular views on Athen’s highest hill. If you feel like going further afield why not take a Day Tour to Argolis, or if the weather is good why not enjoy a 1-day cruise. (B)
Day 5 | Athens - end of services
After breakfast, transfer to Athens International Airport at the arranged time. End of services. (B)
