Day 1, Sunday: Arrive LjubljanaUpon arrival in Ljubljana, you will be met and transferred to your Ljubljana hotel (Note, transfer from Venice can also be arranged if requested at time of booking). The rest of the day is free to relax or to begin exploring. This evening meet your fellow travelers for the orientation meeting including a Welcome Drink. (WD) Day 2, Monday: in LjubljanaIn the morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Ljubljana followed by lunch on your own. After some free time take a funicular [cable car] to Ljubljana Castle and enjoy wine tasting of some excellent Slovenian wines with an amazing view of Ljubljana. (B, WT) Day 3, Tuesday: to Postojna and PiranTravel to the Karst region. Your first stop is at the Postojna Cave, one of the largest in Europe. Tour this unique subterranean world by miniature electric train. After the tour, proceed to a nearby wine producer for Teran wine and prosciutto tasting. Finally, drive to Piran on the Slovenian coast. (B, WT) Day 4, Wednesday: in Piran, to Portoroz & Goriska BrdaSee the highlights of Piran this morning, then head to Portoroz, a popular tourist resort. Continue to the hilly region of Goriska Brda. Discover the charming town of Dobrovo and have a delicious dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in Nova Gorica. (B, D) Day 5, Thursday: to Soca Valley & BledDrive along the emerald green Soca River, through Kobarid, featured in Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms, and stop to visit the WWI Museum. Later, continue to Bled, stopping at Boka waterfall viewpoint. (B) Day 6, Friday: in BledA sightseeing tour shows you the highlights of this charming town on the shores of Lake Bled. You’ll also visit imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. We will return to the lake shore and taste the famous Bled cream cake. In the afternoon, tour to the other Alpine beauty, Lake Bohinj, enjoy a relaxing walk along the lake shore and take a cable car to Mt. Vogel. Enjoy some cheese tasting and admire the stoning, Julian Alps. Tonight, celebrate the wonderfully scenic vacation with a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D) Day 7, Saturday: depart LjubljanaAfter breakfast, you will be transferred to Ljubljana airport (Venice can also be arranged at time of booking) for your departure flight. (B) |

Airfare can be booked at time of reservation. Airfare is instant purchase and non-refundable. Should you book airfare on your own, please be sure and book the right date. Date of tour is the start date in Split. Most flights are overnight flights, please book accordingly.
Departures & Transfers
Tour date noted is the date the tour begins in Split and ends in Zagreb on Day 8. Please plan your air accordingly, as most flights overseas are overnight flights and you would depart the US one day earlier. Transfers are available on arrival and departure on tour start and end date.
