Itinerary

Day 01, Saturday: Arrive Catania - Welcome to Sicily

Upon arrival, a private transfer awaits from Catania Airport to the hotel. Enjoy a welcome cocktail, dinner and overnight at our hotel. Overnight in Catania. (D)

Day 02, Sunday: Catania - Sircusa - Ragusa

After breakfast, departure for Syracuse and visit the archaeological area including the famous Latomie of the Paradise and the Dyionisios “Ear”. Continue to the island of Ortigia, the small baroque old city center of Siracusa. Visit the Cathedral and the Arethuse fountain. Lunch on our own. Depart for Ragusa and visit the enchanting historical center “Ibla”, with its Baroque stunning palaces and churches. Enjoy a tasting of typical products of the island locally by the Dome. Dinner and overnight in Ragusa. (B, S, D)

Day 03, Monday: Ragusa - Caltagirone - Piazza Armerina - Agrigento

After breakfast, depart to Caltagirone, famous for the production of ceramics and pottery. Visit a ceramics laboratory with an opportunity to shop and browse. Continue to Piazza Armerina and visit the worldwide known Villa Romana del Casale thanks to its well preserved mosaics. Lunch in a local restaurant with a special menu chosen. Depart to Agrigento and visit the Valley of the Temples including the Temple of Juno, Concord, Heracles, Zeus and Castor & Pollux. Dinner and overnight in Agrigento. (B, L, D)

Day 04, Tuesday: Agrigento - Palermo - Monreale

After breakfast, we depart for Palermo. Lunch on our own today. In the afternoon, visit of Monreale, the Cathedral, one of the most beautiful monuments of the world with its Moorish architecture and the Benedictine Cloister in Arab-norman style. Continue and visit the historical center of Palermo, one of the largest of Europe, including the Cathedral, the Palatine Chapel and the Royal Palace. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at our Palermo hotel. (B, D)

Day 05, Wednesday: Palermo - Segesta - Erice - Trapani - Palermo

After breakfast, depart for Segesta to admire the Temple and the Theatre. Continue to the medieval village of Erice placed on the top of a hill overlooking the city of Trapani and the Egadi Islands: walk through its tiny and characteristic streets. Lunch on our own, then onto Trapani for a panoramic tour of the still operating salt windmills. Return to Palermo for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day 06, Thursday: Palermo - Cefalù - Nebrodi Park -Taormina

After breakfast, depart Palermo for Cefalù, a charming coastal town. Enjoy a walk to the city center and down main street to reach the Arab-Norman Cathedral and the medieval wash-house built in the rock. We drive through the Park of “Nebrodi” and stop at the Miraglia Forest for lunch with a typical menu. Continue to Cesarò, Randazzo and visit the Etna park from an unusual point of view- the north facing side - surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Arrival in Taormina. Accommodation, dinner and overnight at our Taormina hotel. (B, D)

Day 07, Friday: Taormina - Optional; Mt. Etna -Taormina

After breakfast, morning at leisure. Perhaps an optional excursion to the Mount Etna (optional tour if purchased). In the afternoon a visit to Taormina, the small medieval village called “the pearl of the Ionic Sea”. Enjoy time at leisure for shopping or walking through the tiny streets. In the late afternoon return to the hotel. In the evening enjoy dinner at our hotel. (B, D)

Day 08, Saturday: Taormina - Catania - Malta

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At the appointed time, transfer from Taormina to Catania airport. Your package includes a flight from Catania toValletta, Capital of Malta, delightful Mediterranean island. Transfer to 4* Dolmen Resort Hotel located in St Paul’s Bay or similar. Dinner and overnigh at your hotel. (B, D)

Day 09, Sunday: Malta - Marsaxlokk Markt & the Blue Gratto - Extended Half Day Excursion

The idyllic fishing village of Marsaxlokk with its colorful luzzus and unique character make the unrivalled setting for the local market. Continue the tour with a visit to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting – boat price not included) and the nearby caves. Explore one of Malta’s unspoilt village: the main square, the hub of the village with its parish church and band club. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Dinner in your Hotel. (BD) (B, D)

Day 10, Monday: Malta - Valetta & Malta Experience - Half Day Excursion

Enjoy a morning tour of Valletta – Malta’s heritage-rich capital. Highlights include the Upper Barracca Gardens and St John’s Cathedral, home to a splendid Caravaggio painting as well as an intriguing Museum. Going down Republic Street you will walk past the Grandmaster’s Palace before watching the Malta Experience, an audiovisual show where Malta history throughout the centuries is brought back to life. Spend the rest of the day exploring at your leisure. Dinner in your Hotel. (B, D)

Day 11, Tuesday: Malta - Mdina - Full Day Excursion

Today’s excursion takes us to the central part of Malta, dominated by the medieval fortified city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital city. The narrow streets, dating back to medieval times, lead to the imposing bastions. Leaving Mdina through Greeks’ Gate, we stop at the early Christian catacombs in Rabat before proceeding to the cliffs at Dingli. After lunch we will visit the San Anton botanical gardens situated near the Presidential Palace, which you will be able to admire from outside. We shall also spend time at the crafts centre at Ta’ Qali. At the end of the tour, allow us to astound you with Mosta’s majestic dome, one of Europe’s largest. (B, L, D)

Day 12, Wednesday: Malta - U.S.

After buffet breakfast, we have a transfer to the airport in Valletta for your return flight home. (B)

Your tour land price is per person based on two (2) people sharing a twin or double room. When a single room is booked, a single supplement will apply. There are no triple rooms for this tour.

Airfare

Airfare is additional. Once you select your date, you will be given the opportunity to search our system for the best available airfare from your home city. The dates shown will be the start/end date of your tour. However, you can alter these dates to arrive earlier or extend your stay as needed.

Our system will search for the best possible airfare during your booking process. Note: airfare cannot be booked sooner than eleven (11) month from the date of departure.

Departures & Transfers

Tour dates are the date you would arrive in Catania. Please plan your air accordingly, as most flights overseas are overnight flights and you would depart the US one day earlier. The transfer will be waiting on arrival in Catania.
